This. Lafayette is growing towards Broussard, Youngsville, and Maurice. Essentially east and south.
I thought the same until I visited my parents recently. Scott is starting to blow up.

Yep, we're up to 5 boudin stores now
Seriously though the Apollo Rd. extension was recently fully completed/opened, that West Village subdivision/development is still being built up/growing, there's a ton of infrastructure projects in the works including linking Eraste Landry to the new Apollo section, I've been told Rouses was looking around to add a store, etc. I know we're a proper town now because we even got one of those shitty subscription car washes.

ETA: Y'all need to fix the traffic light at Hwy 90 and Apollo. Killing my logistics.

If I had a nickel for every time I was somewhere and Kenneth randomly emerged to drink a beer I'd have about 20 nickels, which isn't a lot of money but odd that he always seemed to appear beer in hand.

They are building one large neighborhood that I know of, I'm sure there are more. But, look at the population of the 4 areas mentioned between the last two censuses. Maurice up 120%, Youngsville up 96%, Broussard up 64%, Scott down 6%.

Disagree. Crowley close to Highway 90 and just a few blocks south of it is brutal.

I honestly do not know if he went to BR or not, but he ran a pig youth program in Lafayette when I was there early to mid 70’s

Gotta be the same guy. Hardass, but very likable, old school of old school. I coached basketball, football and baseball in his program circa 2004. He died a few years after that.
