Don’t know how I’d feel having Shreveport being the biggest city near me.

I know they are looking for escaping immigrants along the stateline daily. As long as your wife, or partner, aren't Latino, you're good.

Hour from Shreveport.

Two hours from DFW.

Nice place to live in the piney woods. I have family there. Good local fishing and hunting. LHS has a damn fine football program. John King has them rolling.

My great grandfather taught at Byrd for Physics and Chemistry from 8 to 12. He would teach 2 classes at Longview from 1 to 3. He did this 34 year from 1959 thru 1992. He retired a millionaire after this and his investments.

Longview is a lot like Marshall and Carthage. Louisiana could have these types of small cities if we were not so damn stupid. Tyler started out like Marshall and around 1990, their population went kaboom.

Been over twenty years but we enjoyed the seven years we were there. No state income tax is nice. I feel like houses are cheaper there compared to Baton Rouge Area.

I lived there for two years after college... pretty boring tbh. Folks are nice, but it’s a long arse way from anything fun (Dallas, Houston, the beach).

Well my soon to be wife is from Shreveport, but only her mom and stepdad live there. Her good friend, husband and their 3 year old son moved to Longview a year or so ago, and we’ve been there twice to visit, but they live on the outskirts in some ritzy hood. We want to move to Texas eventually, but neither of us want to be in a big city.

Never been there, but imagined it as the NE Texas equivalent of Beaumont. Based strictly on geography where Dallas:Houston, Shreveport:Lake Charles, I-20:I-10.

It doesn't smell as bad as Beaumont.

It’s wayyyy better than Beaumont

I really like the Tyler and Longview area

Tyler is better, but just by a little bit. Plenty to do in Longview. I was really surprised how good the food scene are in Tyler/Longview.

I'd live there. Some in-laws live in Diboll, so I get there semi-regularly. They love it. I like it.

Not really. I always get all those towns and exits confused.
