Tons of great answers, but the most underrated one:

They’ll never know how to wait for their parent to pick them up from school. If my mom said be ready at 4:45, my arse better be outside at 4:45. If something happened and she was late, I kept waiting. None of this constant calling and texting just to figure out where and when to get picked up.

The thrill of watching your favorite college team play on TV because it only happened once or twice a year.

Endless roster of rock concerts that cost less than $10

The thrill of a Montgomery Wards or Sears Christmas Catalogue.

Vacarptions with family piled in car, seeing those roadside inns and having your folks pick one with colored TV

how about sitting at the turntable, with your guitar and listening to the song to try and learn the guitar part, and stopping, and turning it back a few hundred times to try and get it right?

Have only one or two LSU games on TV per season. For the other games listen to John Ferguson with play by play on 870 AM.

The sounds of AOL when it's about to connect, only for someone to pick up a phone and boot you, then having to wait for their conversation to be over before you can mack on the AIM hoes.

Sit in the back seat of the family car and drive hours on end with nothing more than a few books or cards to play with to keep you entertained asking how much longer til we get to Florida or any other vacation spot.

Switch between Raw and Nitro during the Monday Night Wars. Attitude era was in full swing and the NWO/WCW war. Never knew what was going to happen each weak because it wasn't widely available on the internet like today. ECW was in its prime and had a huge cult following despite not having a huge budget or a primetime show. It was good to have competition back then, it kept the creative teams on their toes.
