....not be able to be found once you left the house.... Your parents just let you go..but consequently, if your parents went out to dinner, there was no finding them either.....you just had to be patient and and wait for people...

yes!

And move the rabbit ears.

Once in lake Charles, around 11 pm on a Friday I got Tampa Florida, badly.

When my dad was in nuclear bomber school in rantoul illinois there was WCIA out of Champaign Urbana.
It was the only tv you got well.
Independent, they picked up the best of Cbs and abc. People at chanute afb were thrilled to hear we were going to get wgn Chicago by cable.
I moved to l.c before cable came to rantoul (or l.c.).

I watched terre haute indiana and mattoon Illinois too in rantoul but they were not clear and no one else in my family would.

Walk a couple miles to your friends house.
Learn to drive in a standard.
Stay outside for most of the day.
Have 4 or 5 games for your Atari.
Drink water from a garden hose.
Ride in the back of a truck.
Get your first thrill from looking at dirty mags.
Eating as a family with the tv turned off.
Only having 4 channels on the tv with no remote.
Rotary dial phones.
Getting your arse whooped
To actually kill and butcher your own animals.
Camping on a creek bank catching your own supper.
Working your arse because your dad told you to.

Intentionally picking up the phone to kick your sibling off the internet. It was the original trolling.
