Teenagers Trick or Treating? Yay or Nay?

The FB page for my neighborhood has a discussion going on whether or not teenagers are too old to be trick or treating. I say if you're in high school, you're too old.
These yuppy arse soccer moms think it's ok for 15 & 16 yr olds to be trick or treating. They're saying it's sweet that these older kids don't want to lose their childlike innocence and want to enjoy Halloween. Now, I know their kid just wants free candy and isn't worried about their childlike innocence. They don't even dress in costume or half arse it most of the time. I also wonder about teenagers who are trick or treating at that age. We were at parties and committing criminal mischief.
I'm not giving candy to any kid that looks older than 14 at my door and I may make fun of a any 16 or up person that shows up.

I'm good with it up until 14 or 15. Anything after that is pushing it but either way they better have a costume.

Can't speak for kids today but at 16, I was doing house parties with friends. God, that was 10 years ago already, shite I'm getting old

In HS on Halloween I was worried about two things:
1. Game film for that Friday's opponent.
2. Which house party to attend.
I will give candy to the ones who show up tonight in costume, but honestly it's more pity then anything. SMDH at kids who value candy over knocking a double or triple at that age.

I put a fricking sheet on at 20 and got a pillow case full of candy. It was desert after my ramen for months.

I don't care if you're 80. If you show up at my door on Halloween Night dressed in a costume, you get candy.
Who wrote the rule book that some sour pusses are trying to enforce? Do they stop giving teenagers in their family presents at Christmas too?

If they wear a real costume then I am ok with it.

After about 8:30 it's usually almost only teenagers. Usually fairly athletic, rhythmic and sans costume.
Light goes out prior to that.

I still trick or treat and I tell people that "my kid" is sick and I'm collecting candy for them. Free candy and it's a lot of fun

Let kids be kids. If they are dressed up and having fun, then they are getting candy at my house. The teenagers fall into one of three categories, 1) they are with younger kids and they are dressed up with them (they get candy), 2) they are in a group and all of them are dressed up (they get some candy), 3) they are in a group, they have a pillow case for their candy, and they have no costume on. Those last frickers are going to get a piece of butterscotch because they need to get on with themselves. The rest are still living the innocence of being a child.
For the record, my 16-year-old is hanging out with his friends in costume but not trick-or-treating. My 13-year-old will be in costume and is going with one of his friends to do a trunk-or-treat at a church.
I will be dressed up, drinking a beer, and handing out candy and will offer shots to any adult that wants one.

In a costume is fine. Non Swimmers in a white T shirt get the tootsie roll bucket.

I think it's trashy for anyone over the age of like 14 to be trick or treating. Once you're in high school, shite is just weird

Who gives a shite? Stop being a grumpy old troll and give them the candy.
