BBC News

Kid was living on a Montegut Mansion.

Aldi Novel Adilang was on the hut 125km (77 miles) off the Indonesian coast in mid-July when heavy winds caused its moorings to snap, casting the 18-year-old adrift.

He ended up thousands of kilometres away near Guam, where he was eventually picked up by a Panamanian vessel.

The 18-year-old, from the Indonesian island of Sulawesi, worked on a "rompong" - a floating fish trap without any paddles or engine.

His job had been to light the rompong's lamps, which are designed to attract fish, the Jakarta Post newspaper reports.

The trap, which is shaped like a hut, floats in the middle of the sea but is anchored to the seabed by ropes.

sounds like a kid of tremendous character

but i'd be curious to know if he masturbated a few times while adrift at sea. if so, let's make sure he never runs for office.

So he worked 77 miles off shore in a tiny arse wooden hut and had fresh water and supplies brought to him once a week?

He wasn’t living the jimmy Buffett lifestyle until shite hit the fan

The story I read confirmed your suspicions. Masturbation was not his first choice. He tried (unsuccessfully) to mate with a few whales but they would not humpback.

There was no tiger, depending on how you read the ending.

Have you seen the movie Adrift?

It’s about a couple sailing from Australia to San Diego who get caught in a typhoon and the boat is nearly sunk and loses its masts.

The boyfriend dies and the girl is forced to sail, with little to no experience, across the Pacific to Hawaii.

Based on a true story and an excellent film.

To me this really shows the power of God and that anything is possible through prayer. Reminds me of my favorite Bible verse (Philippians 4:13):

I CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST THAT STRENGTHENS ME

I have bad news here... his god and yours are very likely not the same people.
