Sad for her parents, but how do parents allow a child to get that far gone?

My HS daughter (no pics you pervs) who is a junior has some psychological struggles but her mom and I stay on top of it pretty well and can read her well.

I can’t imagine being so unplugged for any of our kids as to let it get this far. Kids don’t wake up on a random Tuesday and have the fist thought of “I’m going to kill myself”. Bad news is her parents now get to live with the “benefit” of hindsight and seeing the warning signs.

Shitty situation all around, but the face looking like she stumbled into a tackle box should have been a warning.

I dont care what affiliation..what grown human parent lets their kid get even almost into that physical state of decay?

this....like seriously as a parent of a hs kid, i cant imagine my kid dressing, looking and posting things like this ever. I would never allow it.

and my question and curiosity is how the frick were the parents raising her from early on? seriously....like was she an amazing outgoing kid at 5/6/7?

Good riddance. Our species needs to accept that some are born with dysfunction.

Society doesn't owe her shite.

Society doesn't owe anyone shite.

You are responsible to the ones you choose to be: family and those you take in. That's it.

Nobody owes anyone else anything. We all have our own shite to deal with.

It's unfortunate no one told her the truth, but at least she didn't kill other people.

At what point does voluntary/involuntary mental health intervention supersedes "personal expression"?

My thoughts exactly. How can a parent let their child get to this point? We need a picture of the parents.

Same reason parents "affirm" their child announcing they're now the opposite sex
