Teen tells police he is 'Timmothy Pitzen'; missing since 2011: ETA: DNA didn’t match

Turns out the guy lied and posed as the kid. Supposedly has a criminal past and has been psychologically evaluated in the past.

An Ohio man whom authorities said falsely claimed to be Timmothy Pitzen, the Illinois boy who went missing in 2011 at age 6, was found to have a long criminal history and was once psychologically evaluated, according to reports.

Brian Rini, 23, of Medina, Ohio, was spotted in a Newport, Ky. neighborhood early Wednesday by residents who suspected he was trying to steal a neighbor’s car. When they approached Rini, he reportedly told them he was Pitzen, according to police in Sharonville, Ohio.

In 2013, Rini’s mental competency to stand trial in Medina County, Ohio, was evaluated but officials determined he was of sound mind. Rini's brother, however, refuted those claims, telling Cleveland's FOX 8 that his brother has mental health issues.

Timmothy was last seen with his mother, 43-year-old Amy Fry-Pitzen, on May 11, 2011. She'd checked him out of his kindergarten class and driven him to a zoo and water parks before the boy seemingly disappeared after they checked out of a Wisconsin Dells resort. HIs father reported Timmothy missing on May 12

Fry-Pitzen was then found dead by apparent suicide in a Rockford, Illinois hotel room. Police told ABC News at the time that she'd left a note stating that she left Timmothy with people who "would care for him and love him," but didn't name them.
