Why couldn't the elf stand 15 feet away? Why is the elf so special?

These service dog people are out of control. If you need to constantly have an animal around to pet and cuddle because you have anxiety you are a pussy.

Team Santa.....though I do like this service dog scam people got going on.

I'd love to bring my golden retriever everywhere with me. I have been tempted to buy one of those service dog vests off of amazon but my personal code of ethics stops me every time.

I agree that this is total bullshite, but service dogs for kids with autism is a more legit thing. They are highly trained, which is why they cost so much. I still think it's dumb, but it's more of a real deal than someone who just gets their pet certified because they get the jitters at Home Depot.

Nobody has disagreed that legitimate service dogs are very useful and a blessing to their owners.

Team Santa is saying that it is unreasonable for victim cookie needing bitch mom to stir up this much shite for a Santa, a santa providing company, and a mall. A reasonable, respectable, and considerate human being would have looked out for Santa's health by keeping the dog away from him, explaining the reasons to her daughter and giving the girl the options, and not trying to start shite during the holidays.

What would be so bad about:

"Honey, Santa doesn't feel well today, and spot might make him feel worse. Do you want to come back to see Santa when he feels better or go sit in Santa's lap today while I hold Spot for a few minutes"?

I don't disagree. Some posters seemed to think this was one of those anxiety dogs. Just clarifying.

Let the little girl have a picture with her dog. Santa can hold his breath for a minute. What a vagina.

Reads like the mom wanted the dog in the pic, which would not be needed if the dog was a service dog.

Sorry, but dog owners thinking they’re special is one of my pet peeves along with Vets who try and claim their status as a catch-all to justify their actions.

People are such bitches anymore. If the private company that Santa and his elves work for institutes a ‘dog day’ then come back then.

JHC you idiots will knee jerk react to anything involving muh dogs.

And FTR I have three of them, so I’m definitely an animal person.

Service dogs and emotional support dogs don’t have to be highly trained or have certificates. There is literally no barrier to call a dog either.

Service dog is one that provides a service for a qualifying disability. Only two questions are allowed to be asked of a service dog. Does the dog provide a service for a disability and what service does the dog provide? That’s it, you cannot ask for certifications or anything else. You can boot them if they are an untrained mess and cause problems.

Support animals aren’t covered by the ADA, you should check your own state laws for that type and their restrictions. They are usually just pets that keep people company.

Team Santa.
It sounds like they even had a day set aside for animals and the shite for brains mom didn't abide by that.

While animal therapy and service dogs have great therapeutic effects, what would happen if the worker had a severe enough allergic reaction that required hospitalization?

Bottom line, the man playing Santa had a diagnosed allergy to dogs but mommy has to have her way.
I doubt it was just the santa who was allergic. They probably have that policy assuming that at least a few of the hundreds of kids who sit on Santa's lap are allergic to dogs as well.
