THe couple next door is always on my case about joining. I tell them I invest my money in other alternatives. They keep asking. Me and the fiancé give in. We go next door for dinner and they give us a presentation. It's terrible. You are literally selling a shite product with the hope someone under you ,or yourself, will get someone to join. I don't know how to tell these people that I'm going to decline. They are so passionate about it. How do people continue to get caught up in things like this?

I hear that. You would think people, successful ones at that, would be much better with money. They said, we got our first $2,000 check. I was thinking Damm you have been doing this for 5 years, spend hours a week, go out of town, and the largest check is $2000

I sat through one of those presentations as a favor to a friend. The guy bothered me about it for 6 months even though I told him it wasn't for me every single time.
He kept giving me his financial freedom routine. IMHO financial freedom isn't alienating yourself from all of your acquaintances peddling some poor man's pipe dream.

My mother in law signed me and the wife up about a year or two ago. Only really seems useful if you go all in or you're building a house and it can save some money on furnishings

My buddy keeps telling me that he's saving 18% on his AT&T bill, which is the only this that makes it slightly enticing. I just told him that I don't have $900 laying around to enroll myself. It's interesting, but everything I have read about it says that you can get all of the discounts for free or cheaper, you just have to dig around and do your research.

Im actually in it (under the free generation thing) and so far we like it. We have met some very successful people through it. When we show it, we ask they think about it and thats it. We never push and never bring it up later unless it's close to a big purchase or something and we just give a small reminder.

We have been in for 3 years. We never did anything until last month as far as sharing it. We used it when building the backyard fence and appliances for the house. There we saved about 1200. Few furniture pieces including cribs we saved about 1000. The commission back hasnt been that great but we are also on the spot buyers. Just about 100 a year on that.
Our in laws are doing pretty good. They actually did bring home my MIL so she could watch our kids with the income. They also met some real estate investors here and they are helping them develop housing in Livingston.

My wife's good HS friend and her husband pitched it. I told my wife "I'm a 'no'" but told if she wanted to spend the $850 we could. But it had to be EXTRA money.
