You're getting pretty offended about people being offended man.

Where's the limit on that? If some teacher gave your 7th grade daughter a "Most likely to get pregnant in high school" or "Most likely to become a stripper" award, still all just in good fun or maybe showing a serious lack of judgment?

I'm sure it was in jest, still a terrible idea.

ETA: I'm honestly surprised at the people taking the teacher's side in this.

Yeah because it wouldn't have happened.

I think this kind of thing should happen thousands of times a day. It would help kids develop a thicker skin. Everything that is not a compliment is not hate speech.

If she earned the Future Terrorist moniker she should wear it proudly or modify her behavior. Where were her parents when her behavioral patterns were being developed?

Calling a shithead a shithead does not make you a shithead.

Article says she is in the advanced academic program and has never had any disciplinary issues. You have anything to the contrary? Or are you just assuming she is a shithead?

Yea, the timing was really bad, and the award itself was stupid too. I am just guessing that they chose her because of it being outlandish in the context of who she really is. Like giving the valedictorian a mock award for most likely to drop out of school or something.

Yeah, I'm not sure how this one is getting brushed off like it's nothing by some. This is a story about bullying by a teacher towards a student because the student was somewhat terrorist-looking.

That behavior shouldn't be tolerated from a teacher. Because, you know, terrorism

The world needs more teachers like this.
i believe that is the 7th grader that got the award that said that. She/He, idk with a name like that, is a good sport and will most likely be a contributing part of society.

That's a leap. Channelview is around 40% Hispanic, so she was certainly not the only student with her looks.

If the kid is Muslim, the parents are probably proud

So the teacher didn't think she looked like a terrorist, but gave her an award saying she is most likely going to be a terrorist. That makes sense

I was assuming she was a shithead because she won the award.

If what you say is true it is like calling a fat guy Slim or Tiny. This makes it more of a stupid joke but not really cringe worthy or esteem threatening.

Most likely to be a hotel maid would have been funnier

My HS was as bad or worse than this, such as naming one of my friends the most likely to be atop a clock tower and me most likely to be there with him.

When you consider that it was an award from a teacher to a 13yo student in front of what sounds like the entire class, yes it's cringeworthy.
