This doesn't make sense, he got in trouble for talking to two "former" students? Strange

quote:

She also told district officials he made crude remarks while she was in high school, like “cleavage is my kryptonite” and “yoga pants should be outlawed.”

Other than some crude comments, I don't really see what he did wrong. The females have been way worse.

So the guy sent some sexual messages to 20 something year olds? This is grounds for termination now?

That student told district officials that Mr. Hauge made her feel uncomfortable by talking about sex in class, and later was troubled by messages that he sent her after she graduated, according to notes taken by district officials.

A second unnamed student came forward on Feb. 5, saying that Mr. Hauge repeatedly messaged her after she graduated from PHS. The woman later told district officials he talked to her about his sex life with his wife, and asked her about her sex life with her boyfriend.

the article clearly states that he texted them after the graduated.

The guy is definitely a creep but I don’t see where he broke any laws.

Mr. Hosler said the accusations made the district concerned he was messaging students in the same way. District officials searched his district laptop, and found no evidence that he had inappropriate social media conversations with any students while they were students. For that reason, the incidents were not referred to police for investigation, Mr. Hosler said. The district has no policy governing interactions between teachers and former students.

So, he messaged some former students who are adults, but there's no other evidence of wrongdoing.

Also, dude was making near 75k teaching there. I don't even make $50k here in good ole LA and I've been teaching for 22 years.

From the picture in the article, it looks like he also coached. Coaches get stipends. Head coaches get big ones.

Also a lot of private schools give guaranteed raises based on tenure.

Not so. Looks like he already had a written reprimand on file for similar behavior. Personally messaging current students, even non-sexually, shows a concerning pattern.

quote:

He had previously been disciplined for inappropriate communications with a former student in July, 2016.

“Any future conduct of this nature, whether it be through the exact medium or any other may be grounds for termination,” a 2016 disciplinary letter read.

He was warned.

Yeah, I coached until a few years ago. 7% for football, 6% for baseball. A regular treasure trove, I tell ya.
