It happens with blacks. They just cover it up. Or the parents probably don’t give a shite and it doesn’t get reported.

I’ve never really thought about how it always seems to be whites though.

The racial angle to these stories is pretty fascinating and almost never discussed. These stories are ALWAYS white women. Never minorities. Can you imagine if the ‘usual suspects’ were doing this? Probably wouldn’t see the joking.

I mean the percentages just say that it's much more likely to be a white woman, both from a population standpoint and from the demographics within the profession.

quote:

In 2022, just over seven in 10 teachers (71.7%) were white.

quote:

White and multiracial teachers are represented disproportionately, comprising a larger share of the teaching workforce than of the general population. In 2022, white people were 58.8% of the US population and 71.7% of teachers, and multiracial people were 2.4% of the population and 3.1% of teachers.

quote:

As of 2024, around 70% of teachers in pre-K through secondary schools were white. Secondary schools had the biggest share of white teachers, with 86.2%. Black and Hispanic teachers were most represented in preschool and kindergarten (18.9% and 17.9%, respectively). Asian teachers were most represented in preschool and kindergarten (7.3%).

quote:

In 2022, nearly eight in 10 teachers at all levels—pre-K through 12th grade and special education—were women.

I think it’s time that we, as a society, admit there is a major problem of female sexual predators targeting underage boys.

Interesting.

But yeah….I spent about 14 years in education in Asia and I don’t recall ever seeing a Japanese or Thai or Vietnamese teacher doing this. It’s had to have happened….just don’t recall reading it in the news.

It partly speaks volumes about American media and what trends.

But since, you've never lived down the nickname Speed Bag. It's made you bitter and resentful.

because I went to school and was friends with everyone. So it didn't happen like it's happening at a ridiculous rate for the past decade every week now.

That’s a strange response. You are speaking about your experience only. All you can say is that you did not witness it at your schools. That has no bearing on whether it happened elsewhere. There were thousands of others schools that you had no knowledge of.
Also, even if you went to a ridiculously small school, you were not aware of every secret or scandal. That’s ludicrous.
