It’s absurd how big she is right now, by far the biggest artist on the planet and she’s only 33. She’s going to be around for a long time

Never underestimate the buying power of young women/teenage girls, who make up her base. We see it in ticket sales of movies, which cater to young women/teenage girls. If you can corner that market it's a cash bonanza.

Also I respect Swift even if I don't listen to her music. She gave her road crew over $5million in bonuses and her bus drivers $100k each. They said they normally get $5k-$10k from other groups they drive for.

I just miss her country music but I’m sure she will revisit that again.

I think people forget that Taylor Swift is in her 30s and has been singing and writing since she was 14. She had her first big hits around 2006-2008. There are 20-30 year olds who have grown up with her music most of their teen to adult life.

She lost me after around her Reputation album, but Folklore and Evermore are amazing albums. Midnights is great too. Saw her in Nashville for under $600 for two lower bowl tickets and would definitely do it again.

How did she write them? Wrote the sheet music or played the notes? Or did she just add a thing or two to someone else's creation? What instruments does she play competently? I don't know.

Largely both. She does have co-writers for some things.

That said, I think she plays guitar, banjo, piano, and weirdly the ukelele proficiently.

Of course you don’t think she’s that great because she targets teenagers for their audience.

That’s like asking a 13 year old kid to try and like Led Zeppelin.

i will never understand being absolutely obsessed with an individual like most Taylor Swift fans are (which are overwhelming majority women if that says anything)

It certainly says a lot about the males who like her music.

The Weeknd is welcoming Taylor Swift to a club that was once so exclusive, he was the only member. Following news that the “Anti-Hero” pop star had become the only other artist to ever reach 100 million listeners on Spotify, the Idol creator took to Instagram to post a sweet message of congratulations, featuring a throwback photo of the pair performing together on Swift’s 1989 Tour.

quote:

Swift hit 100 million monthly Spotify fans earlier this week. The occasion crowned her as the first female artist to ever do so, and just the second artist in general after The Weeknd, whose real name Abel Tesfaye.

Tesfaye first crossed into the previously unexplored 100 millions territory in February, becoming the first artist in Spotify history to hit the milestone. At the time, Swift had 80.3 million monthly listeners, while Miley Cyrus had 82.5 million and Drake 68.6 million.

At the time of publication, Tesfaye has 109.6 million monthly listeners on the platform, according to his Spotify page.
