I'm dumb but why does the license need to be valid to buy booze? Suspension is for operating a vehicle with a valid license. Proving to be over 21 with it is pretty ordinary I would think.

I've always found it comical that I can be let into a bar one day, but a day later that same ID somehow can't prove I'm of age.
Like, I was clearly of age at some point in the very recent past, so I'm obviously of age now.

Once expired, it is no longer a valid form of identification.

It’s the law that everyone drinking Or purchasing alcohol has a valid ID on them. Alabama takes it seriously and will fine and take the bartender or cashier to jail.
