How exactly do you not take care of your feet?
I switched to a standing desk after covid and sometimes I used to work barefoot on the hardwood and started getting numbness in the bottoms of my feet and realized real quick I needed to wear shoes if I'm standing around on a hard surface for 8+hours a day.

Had two foot injuries in the last year and that shite wrecks your life... was crazy.

One seemed to be insertional achilles tendinopathy.... basically where the tendon inserts to and attaches to the heel bone. It got inflamed likely from several days in a row of bad shoes walking on a concrete tradeshow floor.

That was horrible in the sense that any amount of rolling onto the foot would create sharp excruciating pain... so even a walking boot wouldn't help. Crutches only. (or one of those knee scooters, but I didnt have one).

Damn that sucked.

I’m dealing with plantar fasciitis from playing too much pickleball and not stretching enough. I’m learning my lesson the hard and painful way.

I woke up with intense pain from my foot and that was my wake up call to never stand around all day barefoot on a hard floor. Never crossed my mind before that. I hope I caught it in time but I do still have some numbness that doesn't seem to ever go away.

What an idiot. Never occurred to me trying to be healthy and not sit on my arse all day might cause a different problem.

The most pain ive ever been in in my entire life happened in high school. I had an ingrown toenail on my big toe that got infected. I was supposed to have it removed the next day but opted to go to basketball practice the day before anyway. Coach knew I was "hurt" but not "injured" so basically told me to suck it up.

Halfway through we were doing a rebound drill where coach put one of those caps on the rim and you work on blocking out etc.

As I was blocking someone out, another jumped early and landed right on my big toe of my foot.

I fricking limped off the court and was found half crying half screaming in locker room
