This is absolutely not true.
If masks work explain how California made masks mandatory in June (even outside and are writing tickets for non-compliance) yet still have a ton of cases and spread?
Saying follow the science in relation to masks stoping covid when they obviously didn't stop massive spread in many areas is wrong.
I don't feel like your statement has been proven in the least if I'm honest.

The curve is going down because everyone in Louisiana has likely already been exposed at this point. You’ve either had it, had it and not known or are immune at this point.

Like how cases and hospitalizations were already trending down before the mandate went into effect? Like how places like Hawaii have seen massive increases AFTER the mask mandate?
Hawaii May be because if increased testing, maybe not, but what is clear is their mask mandate didn’t do anything to stop it.

Yes. Phase 2 to be exact. Well actually it happened when JBE moves us back to phase 1 but didn’t want to call it that

yeah it's quite clear that government has no real rhyme, rhythm, and it never had a clear plan during all of this
i'm not even talking about the "masks are government intrusion!" stuff. i'm just talking about general competence. the handling of Covid is one of the greatest arguments against allowing government in your life. they clearly have no idea what they're doing and are wielding EXTREME power with that ignorance.

i have argued many times that masks are a personal responsibility and should be worn (especially since the cost is 0)
but the above statement is wrong. we aren't returning to normal b/c the government (across all levels) ha no idea what to do without a vaccine

The mandate came out after the initial restrictions, but that seemed to be more of an evolving understanding of the virus than an intentional evolution.
Whether one believes that the mask mandate was a good idea or not, the government certainly believes that masks are at least partially effective in reducing the spread of the virus. Because mask use costs the economy basically nothing, and because business restrictions cost the economy a fair bit, it would logically follow that the mask mandate would literally be the last restriction the government would remove.
