It's the buzzword salad and platitudes that attract black politicians and activists like moths to a flame.
Much of that word salad is grammatically challenged. Maybe they had a character limit but still had to hit all of the right buzzwords.
This developer has almost no experience and wants taxpayer money.

Where are they gonna put 36 units at Scotland/Scenic? I ride through there almost daily due to work. Guess they could tear down some of the crack houses in that area.

We know what they’re doing. They know what they’re doing. The difference is they don’t care and nobody will stop them

They want to spend your money to build luxury housing in a neighborhood that doesn't even invest in itself.
It's sort of like venture capital......but instead of having an original idea that motivates private investors, you have an incredibly stupid and extremely risky idea and use political connections to force the taxpayers to back you.

He's probably going to get it too. You have to understand that these morons we have in government just pick the flashiest entities that approach them with absolutely zero research or due diligence. Hell, the mayor almost hired a CAO who's resume was almost entirely fabricated. She just took the guy's word for it. The only way we knew the guy was a fraud was because the local news orgs made a few basic phone calls to confirm.

With an average construction cost of $305,000 per unit.

Bet there won’t be even a slight mention of this on the local news stations.

"Poor" people, aka lazy government tit suckers, should live in luxury apartments and homes, just like those losers that work for a living. Everyone deserves to have the same stuff, no matter if they work or not.
I think that sums their thoughts up.

Shameless.

According to the mayor’s office, the project will be a 51,000-square-foot, mixed-use development with 36, one-, two- and three-bedroom affordable units for essential workers and low- and moderate-income professionals. The development will be located in Scotlandville at the intersection of Scenic Highway and Scotland Avenue. The $6 million will be used to provide gap funding for the construction of the project.
If Sharon is so hell-bent on pissing $6 million away, I wish she’d just directly deposit it into my checking account.

I wonder how much that fat POS Gravy is getting in kickbacks. This type of shite makes me glad I don’t live in LA anymore. I would be outraged as a tax payer.

local media won’t touch this. bet.

If she wants to help north Baton Rouge, build some fricking sidewalks or repair some street lights. Don't cover the risk of an inexperienced private developer with a bad idea.

Board Drive is in my hood. I will take a trip down that street this afternoon. Possibly was a flood flip from 2016.

You should still be outraged, these are Federal tax dollars, so you contributed whether you like it or not.

What about the fricking drainage crisis? Baton Rouge is choking on its’ own traffic. Kween Broom passed a new road tax that has not poured a yard of new concrete. Now she is picking winners and losers with her “ authority” .Perhaps she needs to to fatally trip over her royal robes.

What makes you think she’s “falling for” anything? How bout the developer is gonna laundry some of that money back to her or already did with other
Funds? Or maybe her cousin Ray Ray will get awarded the site work. It’s such a load of utter bullshite.
And who exactly are “essential workers and low- and moderate-income professionals.”? Popeyes employees?
