Shame to waste a perfectly good monitor, but sacrifices must be made

I love a happy ending!

I have a .30 cal silencer and decided to buy some .308 subsonic rounds for fun. They're incredibly silent. As quiet as a .22 subsonic canned. But insanely inaccurate and slow. The drop at 50 yards was quite incredible. That's my experience with .30 cal silenced, so for those reasons, I'd guess the round absolutely was supersonic. And you could hear a crack in the video. But, my experience is limited so I could be wrong.

Always a chance of the object you are shooting through altering the trajectory of the bullet.

That wasn't a man.

I'm more surprised to take that tight of a shot standing off of another guys shoulder than anything else. You have to steady yourself and also trust the other guy is not going to flinch at the wrong time. I imagine they practice that though.

I'm not really a ballistics expert, but that shot doesn't seem prone to deflection given the variables there. It would seem two people in the video should be thankful they took the shot. If I were one of the hostages, I'd be alright with the risk of the swat taking the shot, vs the risk of not taking the shot.

I had to make a few critical decisions in the early 2000's with approval. I would have taken that shot all day! Pretty sure he told he used for a prop, if you move the hostage dies!

Yeah, I've never seen that, but I've also not seen a lot of SWAT training or executing a shot like that. Shoulder rest guy didn't seem to have any allergies or nervous ticks in the situation. So I guess that's good.

Have you guys done a lot of testing shooting rifles through computer monitors or something?
No but clearly the SWAT has done similar testing you dumbfrick
They explain it in the linked article. Spend less time arguing and more time learning and you might accidentally become knowledgeable in something

Surely there's a better way to kill the guy without shooting through a monitor lol. There's no guarantee where that bullet goes after going through a computer.
Hmmm... Just maybe the snipers know a little more about external ballistics of a 308 then YOU?????

Also it's a high powered rifle about 20 feet from an object made from plastics and soft metals. It would be different if the shot was from 100+ feet and going through a metal door.

I know retired seal that before he moved would train the Vermillion Parish swat team. One of the classes he taught was shooting through glass. He basically said it doesn’t really change anything.

At close range.
A computer monitor is not going to change the the trajectory a .308 round that close.

Seen bullets punch through solid steel with almost zero deviation. Something known as "barrier blindness" and it's known which cartridges and bullets are more blind than others. A slippery monolithic copper projectile from any full-power cartridge is going to punch through a flat monitor without caring that it was there. Probably did much the same to the guy's skull too.

The sniper was probably more worried what was behind the robber's skull than what was in front of it.

Tell me you don’t know shite about firearms/ballistics without telling me you don’t know shite about firearms/ballistics.

So nobody is gonna talk about the alter getting absolutely dunked on by rummel and them????

Well, it's not retarded. Bullets change trajectory after they hit shite. It's called physics. Also you're a nerd.
This is how weve got to banning assault weapons without a single person being able to define an assault weapon.
