Based on the your experience, you know, the time YOU responded to "multiple officers down" and took out the active shooter from ground level in broad daylight in the middle of Baton Rouge.

Saying it isn't that difficult of a shot isn't a degrading opinion. I have high expectations of our SWAT units, this shot surprises me none. Excellent shot yes but they are trained for those type if expectations.

Long's carcass should be dried & salted and used for decoration.

I'd be very interested to know what type of funeral he has given, who attends, and who pays. I wonder if the media will cover this. It would be very interesting to see how that played out.

Agreed. I certainly hope our SWAT units have people capable of that shot (and a lot more, TBH).

But still kudos to the officer, of course.

I'm sure the officer would tell you it was a pretty easy shot.

I don't get the downvotes. You're 100% correct. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad they killed the worthless piece of shite. But hitting a man sized target at that range, even with iron sights, is quite standard.

I agree.

Not taking anything away from the officer, but that is not that difficult, even if the target is mobile
How many times have you guys done it, shot a guy from 100 yards out who was trying to kill you?

The guy took out an a-hole who just murdered 3 fellow officers just doing their jobs.

Until you've been in his shoes, it's pretty low to say it's not that difficult.

I'd be willing to bet he isn't going around discussing it other than for official records.

I assume of you throw out dozens of pieces of lead you'll land a few.

From more than 500 yards away? OK...

None from inside 100 yards. My shots were about x15 range and with a lot bigger gun.

Post up your service records if you're claiming it's "easy". This wasn't the range at Honey Island swamp shooting at metal plates. I'm not saying it'd take the most skilled marksman ever, but the word "easy" takes away from a man that should be praised right now.

If there weren't dead officers involved he probably would've been high giving his buddies when he got back to the station.
