LADA is a huge lobby in this state.

Bought two teslas so far. Best car buying experience ever. Every car manufacturer should handle sales that way

Follow the dealership lobby money and you will find some that makes its way to the 9...guaranteed.

If one person can buy direct from the manufacturer then they all can, and eventually people won't have to use dealerships. Thats why the dealerships don't want that.

Right, but what is the legal basis for not even addressing the legal challenge?

what is the point of such a ban?
I’ve always wondered this. I assume it’s because they want dealerships to be relevant, but it’s not like people will ONLY buy from manufacturers if that option were available, so I don’t see what the big deal is. I remember my buddy having to go some legal state to pick up his Tesla a few years ago and drove it back.

If Louisiana was smart (Ha!) they'd flip this into giving Tesla a lawful exception in exchange for building a Tesla plant somewhere in Louisiana.
But they won't.
But they won't.

I'm seeing a lot of "conservatives" support this bill too. Lots of RINOs in Louisiana. Whether it's Tesla sponsoring this bill or not, it's an anti capitalist policy and you're a liberal if you support it.

Louisiana people will just continue to buy the Tesla’s from Texas.
What is this Texas you speak of? I live in La and recently purchased a new Tesla. I was specifically told that the state of Texas was not an option to take delivery of my vehicle so I had to pick it up in Pensacola, FL.

Teslas should be banned in Louisiana. They are anti oil and anti America

People quite literally do all of these things, the fact that a politician can say that and be re-elected is why the parish state and country are in shambles

Just noticed you can lease a Tesla and have it delivered to Louisiana. I’m pretty sure that option wasn’t available when I looked a few months ago.

For the record, this is Liz Murrill defending this abomination.

That the same vehicle can have widely varying prices depending on whether it’s a knowledgeable buyer, the time of month, and if the sales manager got laid last night, helps to justify our trust in the dealership system.

Louisiana and Mississippi have some of the most stringent occupational and business licensing regulations in the country and are consistently the two poorest states. It's a legacy left by the Dixiecrats and we're the last two states to make any reforms.
