Man if we need cheap labor, there's gotta be some in Peru or Chili or Paraguay or something huh?

I know this is a joke thread, but there were never actual TP shortages.

Just people were hoarding, causing fake shortages.

CDL drivers

There is no shortage of CDL drivers, what there is a shortage of is companies paying honestly with good benefits. Most drivers quit this industry in the first two years and find something else to do because they get tired of the bullshite from the mega companies.

Exactly. I worked with my CDL for a few years, saved up the money to put myself through community college, and now I work in IT making 2-3 times more than I ever did driving.

Trucking isn't what it used to be. Almost costs the same to train for both too (IT AAS and a CDL).

I'm glad I got saddled up with a good company that is honest about everything. I started out with KLLM in Jackson and those pricks lied about everything - had I not found a good gig after them I likely wouldnt be driving now. I'm making near $100k/yr now where I'm at and have no intentions of leaving anytime soon.

There's a HUGE shortage right now in drivers vs the amount of orders that are being placed. It doesn't matter if it's dry goods, chemical or frozen/keep cold goods. Everything is behind ....

Mainly because every industry is busy and there are more things being scheduled to move than there are folks that can actually move it.

I work in supply chain for a chemical company and we've been struggling every day since January. Our regular customers are ordering and so are folks that don't always order from us.....and with every industry rocking and rolling right now.... every day is a challenge.

This morning on my way to work I passed by a guy that had a bunch of paper towel rolls in his passenger seat. Then I saw that his back seat was packed full of them too, then the back of his suv was also packed. I was wondering if there was a new pandemic.

I don't ever remember a paper towel shortage, but I guess you never know with how things are going right now.
