my father in law is a recovering alcoholic and we're going to their house so usually we dont consume booze

maybe a couple beers

i've gotten used to it, sober lunch at their house, then drunk party at mine

Don't worry, I'll drink your share at my family gathering.

This one is simple. Get hammered before you go. If anyone says anything, mumble something about "the blood of Christ"

I never got down with that. My ex wife's sister married a super Christian and neither drink now. We always would drink in front of them even tho they clearly disapproved. I never understood why people have to push their dumb beliefs on others.

Neither of my parents really drink, but I'll probably bring a few of my own beers.

No.

I'm not sure I'd consider that a proper Thanksgiving. Without booze, what else is there to give thanks for?

OMG!!! The horror of actually being around family without being able to drink!!!

Yes, we can drink alcohol, but most of the time we just don't. All that damned food makes us sleepy enough as it is and we'd like to be able to drive back home.

Perfect opportunity to start a discussion on why God allows pedophiles to rape children just to prove they aren't worthy to enter the Kingdom of God...
