Cuffs! I’m also a fan of pleats. Dress pretty traditional for my age, I’m 31 haha. The no cuff look is just cheesy imo. Not a fan.

This. It's a suit. Pants are pleated, hems are cuffed and suspenders are worn. Like this:

The rule of thumb use to be if you're over 6' you cuff. Now it's style thing not to cuff.

People do die and it's normal for a professional man to wear a black suit to a funeral.

True. But in a one suit collection, black is way down the list.

I find cuffs elevate the grandeur of my color coordinated air Jordans, resulting in an irresistibly elegant and professional look.

Actually I would say the belt and shoes are what makes the suit more or less formal if we are talking regular suit. Cuffs are a take it or leave it situation. You won't look bad regardless but if you are wearing sperry's with cuffs you'll just look ridiculous.

If you are wearing Sperry’s with a suit regardless of cuffs you rode the little bus to school.

2" cuffs, slight break - do the same regardless of pleats or flat front.

Apparently I’m too fat for dress pants these days. I tried to buy some the other day and they’re like spandex.

General rule of thumb: if the pants have pleats then cuff. If they are flat front, no cuff.

Pleated trousers are currently out of style, so I would imagine your pants are flat front.

1. Cuffs and pleats are less formal. Cuffs and pleats are an American addition.

2. Cuffed pants must be pleated. Pleated pants must be cuffed. Can’t have one without the other.

3. A black suit (not tuxedo) is for funerals only.

4. A good basic suit should either be navy or charcoal.

5. A tuxedo should be black. Period. End of discussion. Peak or shawl lapels only. A notch lapel is not formal. Black tie is for uniformity amongst the party guests. It is not your tile to show up in a lavender or midnight navy dinner jacket.

6. A tuxedo can be worn with either a cummerbund or suspenders. It is valid to pick one over the other.
