Simply require the papers be turned in, written in long hand script. That assures the student has at least read the document once.

Do what my calculus professor did 3 years ago:
Force us to take photos of our written work attached to digital copies of typed out work.

Death penalty for first offense, per the Poli board.

So when people still want to cheat they just have to physically write what ChatGPT wrote?

Professors will be replaced with AI before you know it

WTF is this shite?
Didn’t think “back in my day we turned our calc homework in on actual paper we wrote on” was an actual “back in my day”
You must be taking business calc.

Why do we need to discourage using AI to its full potential?
Honestly I'd much rather hire the guy who gets his shite done through AI than they guy that can neither do his own shite nor is smart enough to use advancing tech to do it.

Quiz verbally a few students at random on what they wrote in front of the class.

What happens when the power grids go and people have to rely on books, thinking on their own, and verbal communication skills.

BECAUSE IT WILL KILL US ALL EVENTUALLY.
How is it that hard to understand?

In Anatomy at LSU, Dr. Broussard used to stand in front of the class and give you the question, you had a time limit to write your answer on composition paper and he moved on to the next question. And he took points off for misspelled words. No AI in that class.

Because they're not learning anything by having an AI do the work for them.

Why not just save the money and do the work yourself then?

Or just use TurnItIn like every university who offers online classes

I paid someone to write a paper for me. This was back in 2000. We had to actually write it too. They wrote it and I copied it. Paid them $200, for an A. Passed the class. There’s always ways around it.

Can’t we just pay a guy to scan these into a machine that asks AI if they wrote it?

Kids don't know how to write in longhand any more
