My American History teacher in high school asked the class who declares war. I answered Congress and he proceeds to insist that only the President can declare war.
The next day he pulled me aside and apologized, but he never had the balls to tell the class what the right answer was.

HS history teacher kept calling Robert 1 of Scotland Robert Bruce. I wrote Robert the Bruce, which is the correct nomenclature, and he counted it wrong. So I got an encyclopedia and showed him. He gave me half credit.

The poor routinely are tricked into supporting the interests of the wealthy by using ideas like patriotism and honor. These ideas were in abundance in the South.
