You lose ounces in the weight room... you lose pounds in the kitchen
I've lost 30 pounds since Labor Day and haven't gone to the gym once. I walk 2 miles a day 5 days a week. That's it.
It's all about weekly calories
Monday-Thursday I eat:
3 eggs sausage and cheddar omlette and 3 strips of bacon for breakfast
A 20 gram CLIF protein bar for lunch
1/3 pound salmon filet, a cup of green beans and a half cup of black beans for dinner at 6:00.
Then on Friday, Saturday, Sunday I skip breakfast and then starting at 12:00 go all out from Noon to 6:00pm. I eat anything. Wings, burgers, junk food, you name it. This weekend I am making lasagna, and a trifle. But I keep it in a 6 hour window so I can fast for 18 hours 3 straight days.

Yes you can lose weight without working out. But you'll look like shite. Why would you want to do that?

Why not? Not concerned with muscle loss?

Some of the most healthy, filling foods are fatty and high in calories. That's what keeps you full.
That isn't the argument you made though
Everything in moderation is fine, but weight loss has 100% to do with calorie restriction
And volume also helps with staying full. ..

Wouldn't you want to retain muscle and promote losing more fat% from that 30 lbs

Most people are more concerned with the number on the scale.

some research shows that it is less about calories and more about insulin producing foods.

Would love to see research that shows that insulin producing foods are more important than calories
Burning more calories than you eat is how you lose weight. Pretty simple

google Dr. Jason Fung

Reading up, still all about calorie restriction. Just easier to do and control hunger with IF

I'm not looking for a discussion, but keto diets certainly work even without calorie restriction.
