Fat loss depends on energy deficit only, independently of the method for weight loss.

CONCLUSIONS:
This study showed that independently of the method for weight loss, the negative energy balance alone is responsible for weight reduction.

The results of this study showed that it was energy intake, not nutrient composition, that determined weight loss in response to low-energy diets over a short time period. [3]
quote:
Even with extreme changes in the fat-carbohydrate ratio (fat energy varied from 0% to 70% of total intake), there was no detectable evidence of significant variation in energy need as a function of percentage fat intake. [4]

Neither diet offered a significant advantage when comparing weight loss or other, metabolic parameters over a 12 w period. [5]

Both the high-carbohydrate and high-protein groups lost weight (-2.2+/-0.9 kg, -2.5+/-1.6 kg, respectively, P Diet composition did not affect the magnitude of weight loss [7]

Overall, weight loss of 5.2 +/- 1.8 kg was achieved independently of diet composition. [8]

Weight loss was 7.3 +/- 0.3 kg with both diets [9]

The magnitude of weight loss and the improvements in insulin resistance and cardiovascular disease risk factors did not differ significantly between the 2 diets [11]

When people switch to a ketosis diet (very low carb), the higher fat and protein levels naturally provide satiety and fill people up. Also, there is some evidence that obese people have a maladapted response to serotonin (of which carbohydrates aid in the synthesis of) and thus omitting carbohydrates omits cravings. People lose weight on a ketosis diet because they eat less on a day to day basis, and avoid large binges caused from carbohydrate cravings.

That's part of it. But I can tell you that I regularly eat more than I burn and still lose weight on a keto diet. Again, you are operating under the assumption that your body uses or absorbs every kcal you ingest, and that simply isn't true. See my post about eating 7000 kcals above maintenance one day. It doesn't turn into 2 lbs of extra body weight.

I provided you a link with 20+ studies saying otherwise. Enjoy reading
Compelling evidence. Definitely statistically significant
Another good link with 9 relevant studies

you should try a diet where you eat 10 snickers bars a day and work out like a fiend. post your labs before and after a 10 week study.

Ok?
Words are important in studies. The words COULD =/ true. Therefore, this is the result of the study:
I can't state this any clearer: Keto works, but doesn't change the calories in/calories out message
And what is your brilliant logic behind this?

youre saying 100% of weight loss is calorie in calorie out.

I'm saying what the studies say:

Diets that manipulate fasting (Intermittent Fasting, Alternate Day Fasting) may have some benefits on the 'calories out' side of things as prolonged fasting might increase heat expenditure, but the most significant means for weight loss here is that you control eating. It is much harder to overeat in 8 hours than it is in 16.
If you increase your metabolism, guess what you're doing...changing the energy out

You are about the dumbest person on earth. Check up on the latest and some older studies. CICO is an old model!
It isn't calories, its proper nutrition and what the body needs. You could literally eat only fatty meat and be fine.
Prove CICO is correct, because there are studies that say otherwise.
If your ideas were only true...They replace the calories with ethanol, and their weight went down. Then, they replaced the calories with chocolate milk, and their weight went up.

Well I track everything I eat. I'm not sure why you are hell bent on disagreeing with me. My preface, which you have continually ignored, is simple. Your body does not utilize every calorie from every macro source as energy or fat stores.
Your body is not some 100% efficient mechanical engine.

because the science shows that you're wrong, and I've posted plenty of studies to back up my stance.

I said that calories in vs calories out.
I've yet to read an actual peer reviewed study that has said I'm wrong, especially in comparison with the hundreds of studies that say I'm right
I'm glad you weren't looking for a discussion though
Keto people are the Crossfitters of the nutrition world

It's easier to be a fat heifer than an informed person.
Did you respond with, Wow, and how much of you lost in the last 60 days?
That would probably shut her down.
