Why do some parishes get 2 year tags and a select few can only get a 1 year tag?

Look, the choose the dumbest people to govern us. They choose the dumbest people (by design) to enforce their governance. A government state as strong as we have is set up for the dumbest and most lazy of society.

Hence is why I should be governor - I recognize the problems and will fix them.

Yep. I've got an expired tag from 2018 and I just leave it on my windshield. Never been pulled over for it, and I don't think I can be, as it is some kind of secondary violation. Even if I got fined for it, the fine would be less than the money I have saved in not getting one in 4+ years. Also, I live uptown and none of the inspection stations near me are in areas I consider safe to go, except for maybe University Shell where all the Tulane cologne heads fuel up.

LaToya can take a hike back to California.

That’s the 2nd closest to me after the Chevron on S. Carrollton. I’ve been in NOLA for three years and have probably been to each less than three times. Quite sus. Neither are as bad as the Shell on the corner of S. Carrollton and St. Charles Ave. that closed recently tho.

I can't say with 100% certainty, but I've heard that the ticket/fine for an expired tag is worse than if you didn't have one at all...

it's an inspection sticker dumbass.
I don't even have one on my current truck, and it's been over 3 years now.

I just took my car in and they replaced the windshield and gave me a new inspection sticker. The one they took off was from 2013. Hell of a ride

It does not matter whether the tag is expired versus missing. What matters is who is noticing the violation, the state police or the NOPD. If the former, the fine can be quite high. If the NOPD, I don't think they can do much more than make you pay $25, the cost of a new sticker. Now, when is the last time anyone in OP has seen the LSP or NOPD doing brake tag checkpoints? Other parishes might have actual enforcement, but definitely not here.

Yep. Just got my vehicle changed and registered in Tim McGraw Country and now I can get one of those sweet arse 2 year stickers.

Baton Rouge Metro gets cucked on emissions regulations and can only get 1 year stickers.

Not true. I get my car inpected every yr in East Feliciana and I live in EBR.

That’s only true of a single inspection station in East Feliciana. They will do both inspections and it’s the one on highway 19 in Slaughter.

They used to only do the emissions inspections there even though it was in East Feliciana. They gave me a rash of crap one time and I made the state police change the rules of the program. If you ask the guy that owns that place about me, he’ll know exactly who you are talking about.

It was hilarious… He said defiantly, “I’m not putting a sticker on your vehicle”. I told him “the easiest thing for you to do is put a sticker on my car. You can do it the easy way or the hard way but you will do it”. Less than 24 hours later he put a sticker on my vehicle. In that 24 hours the state police changed the program and had already conducted remedial training in two parishes.

You don't even need a license plate in Nola and you are worried about a brake tag?

I have been pulled over for expired brake tags multiple times in my car. mid life crisis red mustang. can't miss it.

However, I had NEVER been pulled over in my truck that has no brake tag whatsoever.

So I scraped the brake tag off my car as an experiment.

It's been years, and I have never been pulled over. So basically I found:

No brake tag = cops ignore.

Expired brake tag = cops notice.

That is because brake tags or inspection stickers are a state thing. Only state troopers get money from this program , so they are the only ones that will write you a ticket for it. Local cops do not receive any money from the program and therefore don’t care.
