Apparently you don't know anything about the field, or how they go about data analysis.
Let me guess, you just believe anything that gets published.

I think he's a Scientologist, Jake. They view psychologists the same way you or I might view an astrologer, witch doctor or global warming alarmist.

He's clearly delusional and should seek professional help immediately.

As the tests continued, the psychologists found that women were especially protective when subjects viewed their mate as desirable, and when the woman in the photograph was physically attractive.

I can't read more than the abstract of the study (requires a payment to read, and it's not worth my money), but surveys are by far the least reliable form of science, and this study and most of psychology relies on surveys. There's a high margin for error or bias in surveys, especially one like this. The article says they used "stock photos" to survey the participants. How did they know the women were actively ovulating when the stock photo was taken? Or did they just take pictures of women of ovulating age (young and hot women) and say they were ovulating, then mix them in with old women. I'd imagine this behavior is much more likely to be based on attractiveness and age, not whether women were actively ovulating when a picture was taken. Studies like this are why other studies replicate them to check for accuracy

White men instinctively guard their women from BBC
Last I checked, it's the black guys who get nervous and defensive when a white guy starts getting attention from black women.
Call a mid 30s black woman "ma'am" as you hold the door for her and youre practically guaranteed thems guts.

Pretty much brought psychology to its knees.

Need to compile a list of what they instinctively do, then ask, "so what really is your 'choice'?"

Provide the full text, it'll be much easier than you think.
You seem rather stupid.

Article 1 - Coffee bad for you
Article 2 - Coffee good for you
Always check the author / researcher and their motives. My guess is this is a lesbian who was not picked for the volleyball team.

I wonder if men have the same instincts in regards to women I.e would they be more likely to find the women who were ovulating more attractive?

I've read articles saying this is true. Ovulating strippers earn more money, etc.
