Reasonable educated people decide what is reasonable. It is not rocket science. For food standards, get a sociologist, nutritionist, etc. and form standards. I could draft standards in five minutes - reduce the salt and fat by about 80%. Limit french fry portions.
So only people with college degrees can figure out what is reasonable. Basically you're an elitist.

Sociology is just as much of a science as medicine, Dr. Scruffy.

No. I'm one of the few here who wants to help the less fortunate. People create regulations that are reasonable for one reason: they want to help. Children are obese and out of shape. Who wants to help them? Progressives. The right? "They have the right to be overweight."
I'm again not talking about draconian laws. Reasonable is the key. And nothing that impinges on free speech. You want to bash on progressives? have at it. I do not like the progressives who try to shout down dissent.

Noho - I'm still trying to figure why you said "does anyone else see the problem here" when I posted about beef.
I have some cows and I put one up for meat, then give some of the meat to friends. Grass fed, until finishing time.
I don't see the "problem."

And, to the question what do I eat, I mostly eat stuff I fix myself or I eat at decent restaurants that serve appropriately healthy food (but I do love a good steak, I admit).
LIKE WAT?

So you don't want a free society. People have the right to do what they as long as it doesn't infringe on the rights of others. You're just an elitist that thinks that you know best. You want to force morality which isn't possible.

I put Robert Reich over Sowell 100 fold.

If we regulated fast food, we'd have a much healthier society, but that will not happen until Trump is impeached.

AHHAAHAHHAHAAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAH
..and I say that with a degree in Political Science. Social Sciences are not fricking anywhere near the realm of hard sciences.
By the way, I also have a Master's Degree in political science. Many, many classes on Public Policy development and such. Therefore I am more educated than you on the subject, and therefore I say any regulation you propose is not reasonable.
See how that works?

You should be free to choose what you want as long as I agree with it.

Who cares for the animals? Who slaughters and prepares the animals for consumption? Who disposes of the animals? How is all of this regulated and how do you ensure that regulations are not only reasonable, but met? Do you follow government guidelines for all of the above? How do you prove that you follow all guidelines?

He has a BA from Harvard, a Master's from Columbia, and PhD from Chicago. All in economics.
You are so far beneath him it's not even funny princess.

A free society is anarchy. We already have a disgraceful problem with wealth disparity. Social security is a huge regressive tax, with the poor supporting it for the wealthy.
Reasonable (emphasis, reasonable) regulations are necessary. I wish they weren't but people don't act right without them.
