Student at ULM concerned a new medical school might disrupt his tailgating

Priorities
University leaders are preparing to lease parts of the Grove, and Heritage Park to its potential medical school. So, the grove would become a parking lot. Officials said fans could still use it on game day, but folks in campers would have to move the party somewhere else.
"It's a no brainier, okay so I might have to move 100 yards from where I am right now. And I have a primo spot, but that's fine. I can handle it," The "Mayor of the Grove," said.
But, some Warhawks are concerned about the potential changes since things are up in the air.
"This is where we need to be at because we're right here by the stadium, we can come here and go straight to the game. I don't see the improvement, I guess we'll have to see if that happens," Jalen St. Romain, a student, said.

The grove isn’t even that nice.

Does not compute.

With all the cuts in education funding, why in the world is the state of LA building a third med school? Isn't UL-M part of different university system than LSU? How is that going to work? Seems like the dollars would be better spent expanding the Shreveport and/or New Orleans med schools, but WTF do I know ...

If LSU tried to build on the parade ground it would make Tigerdroppings forget all about Orgeron, St George, the Loop, Gravy, and truck nuts.

It's just a private medical school that is renting space from ULM.

Interesting ... admissions standards like some of the places in the Caribbean, I guess.

It’s not ULMs school it’s an outside entity. No state money is being used.

Another poster mentioned also that. I knew there were "for profit" colleges out there offering 4 year degrees, but I had no idea that there were also private med schools.

Thought Tulane was a public med school did ya?

A medical school in Monroe. Great use of my tax money

I'm not even sure its a private school. I was there for the SLU game and they were saying it was an out of state med school coming in. They explained it basically as a place that they wont have to fund that will train people from our state. But they were saying an already established private school, but not like the Carrabean. Think if Tulane set up a second place in MS. But that is just what I was told at a tail gate.

It’s not like they will miss the open real estate in the Grove. I saw pics of tailgating yesterday and it looked like a nursing home let the residents out to get some sun.
This is coming from a ULM alum about a school that happens to have the very best construction management and pharmacy programs in the South.

Nope, I'm pretty sure everyone in LA knows Tulane isn't a state college. I'm also pretty sure it isn't a "for profit" entity. Tulane almost certainly operates as a Not For Profit. Am I wrong about that?

Money would be better spent moving the pharmacy school under the LSU umbrella.

Obviously
why would a welding/carpentry school try to get in the medical field anyway?
