You mean other than giving perhaps the single greatest live musical performance performance in the history of mankind when they played Free Bird in Oakland, California July 2, 1977?

Correct. My old man's best friend was one of the first to get to the crash.

Too bad you can’t marry ABB.

One of my friend's poor sons might have Duane in his name, and I have definitely not contemplated naming a daughter Elizabeth Reed.

Between Magnolia and Gillsburg, MS and there's a small memorial there.

ABB were technically great musicians but their songs were forgettable and lacked the recognizable lyrics or instrumentals of many LS songs in my view.

Ronnie talked a bout doing a duet with Merl Haggard since he was a big fan. He also wanted to do country music. If they lived, they would become an outlaw country band. They would have killed it. It would be Lynyrd Skynyrd and Alabama battling for best country band at the CMAs.

There is so much awesome shite going on in that video. Smoking hot bra-less 70's broads everywhere, Billy Powell's old school Bud heavy can sitting on top of the piano, Allen Collins going off, etc...

Why is the engine on fire? I thought they ran out of fuel.

The one I hate is sweet home Alabama. Grew up in downtown skynyrdville, went to bama Currently I'm pretty close to halfway between van zant park and brickyard rd. Btw, if you're ever near Doctors Inlet, they are putting up street signs for brickyard rd again. All of my childhood, up into my mid 30s it was a concrete pillar, so people would stop stealing the sign

They werent the greatest musicians, but in an era of Urban Contemporary, disco, and glam rock, they were a band singing to southern kids about things they could relate to.

You are out of your element here. They were popular everywhere in the country and have a solid argument for the best rock band ever in the United States. The songs still hold up.

There was no evidence of an engine fire or malfunction.

There were reports of fire seen on the Right engine (not left as in the picture) on a previous flight and that was looked into.

The plane had zero fuel when it started to go down so an engine fire wouldn't matter.
