Here is a broader image that shows the vortex in the SE part of the larger broad 'center'...still a mess regardless

The Hurricane Barry highlight was the Montegut horse rescue.

The Tropical Strom Cristobal highlight is a redneck aluminum boat yappy terrier rescue.

Even as a mess Cristobal looks better than that POS Barry on visible satellite.

Yeah Cristobal always had great outflow. It is his center that could never get going with the dry-air being pulled in from his west.

Also, it spent enough time over land in Mexico that when it got back over water, it had a lot of ground to make up. All that dry air almost guaranteed strengthening would be limited.

Heavier rain is splitting the difference between New Orleans and Mandeville. Good news.

To my untrained eye those pictures make it look like Cristobal is trying to get his act together, just a little late... but then you look at the infrared and he's still such a mess.

Except Barry was actually a hurricane with 80+ mph gust and messed shite up around Franklin and New Iberia and dumped 10-22” of rain in places

Guess it’s all about the band location. I’m in Metry And it’s not even raining at the moment.

12 mph now to 5 mph. That’s a drastic slowdown

I bet that means that it is about to begin making the slight bend to the NNW/NW that many models predicted. These storms almost always slow down as a change in direction occurs. It may pick up the pace again after changing its heading.
