Track shifted a good bit east. BR nearly out of cone

They did a good job the whole week but sure bonked it right at the end.

That’s a pretty big shift this close to landfall. They never got the northwest turn they were expecting.

Anyone know how bad the surge is around south of Houma? Dulac area?

Not as bad as it was at this time yesterday. The NE wind is helping. Just hoping it holds. Coco Marina has water across it, but no worse than normal heavy east / south wind.

Discovered that place last summer because we were staying near there. Very cool little old school beach bar and grill.

It sped up faster than they expected so the ridge to the north isn’t able to catch it and push it westward in time. It still will, just once the center is further north.

They kept leaning on the EURO too much. The GFS and other models have been pretty much sticking to a NOLA or east landfall for a couple days. The EURO and ICON were further to the west and the NHC puts more emphasis on the EURO most of the time.

They found a new center at 10 pm last night too.

With the new slight shift, is that better or worse for the NO metro area?

They were like 30 miles off on the pinpoint center projection of a nothing tropical storm.

There really isn't a center. There is an LLC that has multiple vorts rotating around, which is typical for broad disorganized systems.

Any deaths yet?

Usually have a death by now from some old baw that falls off a ladder while boarding up for storm and they blame it as a storm death

I said yesterday that it was moving so fast that we’d see a much earlier landfall than 7pm Sunday night. I got downvoted into oblivion and was even told I was straight up wrong.

The only person, I’m ashamed to say, that agreed with me was Mr Perfect.
