You should wait until it hits land before you say that. Don't be a Peej to the thread.

Yes, we actually almost WANT a stronger storm so that the rain isn't as severe. Weak systems can dump a ton of rain in some areas but if it's stronger and considering the strong steering currents it will be caught up in near the coast, it'll move out quickly and not dump as much rain. The weak systems can sometimes spell flooding trouble once they start interacting with the friction of the land.

Don't recall ever seeing the spaghetti models ALL centered up on Louisiana like that--especially this far out. Even the outlier COTC has it making a hook somewhere along the way to cross our state.

The confidence that whatever this ends up being comes to Louisiana is very high. Where in Louisiana and how much it's able to restrengthen is the big question.

Mexico discontinued all coastal watches and warnings... so there are no more intermediate advisories at this time

just the full advisories at 4 & 10 (both AM & PM)

Just sucks. Got a bird nest with 5 babies that are nested in a cup holder on the wife's bike under the carport. I'm sure a good wind will blow the bike over. Can't move it to a better place. Going to try and brace the bike up for them. Birds are Louisiana Warbler.

EURO has him quite a bit to the west in the southern gulf on Saturday. Then he takes a sharp NNE turn after that. This thing is all over the place due to likely center reformations.

995 mb in the southern/central Gulf and strengthening.

Wow. Thanks JBE.

But seriously. Do I need to pull my boat and camper off Chinquapin?

I can take 2-4 foot surge. Over that, I have to pull out.

Make sure to bring your walker with you when you do that.

Really could use one. Can't get my genset out too! Asked my SIL to swing by and put it under the carport. Hope he has the time to do so.

Euro has a strong tropical storm, possibly pushing hurricane strength, making landfall between Lake Charles and Vermilion Bay. I'll post images of the rainfall and wind estimates once they're available.
