"Covington, LA" sure sounds better, doesn't it!

Meh, yankee generals have no creativity.

Well we were just in Vermilion Bay fishing. We’re about 10-15 miles from there.

Fun times.

Very widespread deep tropical moisture on the way.
As high pressure evolves the tandem draw northward will be set up.

That enormous area of heavy rain in the eastern gulf is concerning because if the high to the East grows stronger or builds more westward LA is in on that action. Thankfully this is going to be a fast mover.

I am seeing some confirmation as Some predictions have it losing intensity as it nears the Louisiana coast due to water temps

I hate those rain totals. Most of Alabama (minus the far southwest part) is still in a massive rain surplus for the year. I'd like to get in my pool this summer, but it either rains or the temps are below average. I know I'm in the minority, but I like a hot summer.

That shite near Florida we don't really need. Rest of it...Louisiana can desperately use the rainfall. Has been a rather dry year with the exception a few days in May.

Same here in GA. Ground is very saturated.

Flood Watch...CORRECTED
National Weather Service New Orleans LA
957 AM CDT Wed Jun 3 2020

...Flood Watch is now in effect today through Tuesday morning...

.Tropical moisture streaming over the central Gulf Coast region
partly from the circulation of Tropical Storm Cristobal will be
capable of producing copious rainfall each day through the weekend
into early next week. General and widespread flooding will become
increasingly likely as this wet pattern persists.

Is this the longest flood watch ever? Almost a full week

At least the storm is moving fast and won't gain strength or loiter over the coast dumping 36" of rain on Louisiana. :fingerscrosseditdoesnslowdownandgainstrength:
