Did y’all see the story of the fire department having to rescue some folks from the overwater cabins at Fountainblu state park?
Nothing too dramatic, but I’m sad that those cabins are damaged. They are somewhat new

Ok OT weather guys get to work. Find the next one. This thread was a nice break from all the bs going on right now. Kinda sad a potentially damaging storm would give some relief from how fricked up the world is right now.

In Gretna right now, it's coming down really hard with wind-blown rain. This is MUCH worse than anything we had yesterday when the tv stations were non-stop storm coverage.

Dead center over our house at 1 am Monday.
30.4N, 90.5W. Pres was 29.36 "mg.
Total rain from the storm = 5"
There was never more than a nice breeze throughout the entire day/night.

I've seen thunderstorms way worse than this gentle tropical storm. I did see a pine needle blow out of one of the pine trees.

We should count our blessings, the path this took could have been very very bad for a lot of us, if not all of us, had it gotten its' act together.

Had this even been a CAT 1 OR 2 it could have been pretty nasty, so I for one am very happy.

The GFS is already trying to squeeze another one out of something coming into the Gulf mid-late week next week

So far it's weak and falls apart before getting to the LA coast though. Nonetheless, it sees some sort of potential there.

Sorry for all the pics, I couldn't get the gif to work.

I'm over in the Central area; the way my yard is, I tend to get standing water when it rains heavy (but in a neighborhood that didn't flood in 2016).

My back yard is soggy but not terrible, my front looks fine. My driveway is almost dry now, and it's pretty sunny as of now. A couple of branches are down, but I have a cheapo pavillion tent that rode this out fine.

We get dry cold fronts in November with more wind than this gave us.

Euro and CMC also showing disturbance in the western Carribean 8 or so days out also.

MSY airport : on Sunday, the highest wind Gust was 35 knots (40 mph). Several bands of rain dropped about .10 to .15 per hour but overall the weekend only measured around 2.00 for MSY.

Today, MSY is getting rain moving from the southwest around TD Cristobal but even that added is way less than 6-10 inches forecasted.
