They have made the pump stations safe houses and put a barrier at the lake in Orleans Parish. I guess the levees could overtop but constant water streaming in from the lake won’t happen. Or at least shouldn’t happen.

Pump top the river was always the better solution...damn USACE

Is buying a baw an Oreo blast after checking knuckles a standard protocol for a Sonic meeting? I have never attended one of these, so I have always imagined it as being a little more violent and a little less cordial.

Take it out of auto start before the storm hits. My neighbor has one and rode out Laura. The wind was misting the rain so bad the generator sucked it in and clogged the filter. Took him a whole day to dry it out and get it back running.

this

also when you get back, check the oil and then start it up but remove the front panel if its not raining and its air cooled. they over heat in these temps and burn up the step up motor easily by frying the small circuit board located under the rubber grommet on the stepping motor.

for air cooled whole homes

- check oil often- daily after shutdown and before start up
- give it a 2 hour break daily
- change oil every 72-96 hours
- remove the front panel if it isnt raining and leave the top off. if you have a pop up shade tent, put that over it and remove all the sides to allow it to stay as cool as possible.

-did i mention get an extra step up motor and learn to change it

Hell what’s the difference at this point? 5 miles an hour wind speed. This sucks for all of Louisiana residents.

But the above goes for all air cooled generators. They are all about the same.

Liquid cooled is the way to go.
Does anyone in here have an opinion on what is the GOAT liquid-cooled whole-home generator?
