It’s not just these two storms. I know people who had trouble during Katrina and Rita. AT&T just sucks. I’ve been a Verizon personal customer since 2003, and I never have problems with their service. My wife and kid have no issues in Verizon. I’m having to use a Verizon hotspot to use this AT&T phone.

Hoping I can get back down to lafourche parish today…. If I can’t then I will load up on supplies before heading back down.

Haven’t gotten confirmation on my house yet… hoping we were ok…

It's more incredible that those structures are still standing.

Even with those incredible wind velocities, storm surge is usually the most destructive part of the hurricane, especially at the coastline. The fact that so many of the structures in that community are elevated is a big plus. See Holly Beach during Rita. I don’t there was a structure left standing.

Not even sure where I should look for this type of info.

Good luck. It can be random. For Laura, my next door neighbor and two houses down had extensive roof had water damage. I lost about a dozen ridge caps. You never know.

Yep. Holly Beach looked like a giant walked around and just randomly stuck sticks in the ground. Only structure left standing was the water tower.

Looking at all of this damage, lack of power, water, sewage, and no a/c for an extended amount of time in the Louisiana summer, on top of the possibility of having to be rescued...

Remind me again what the upside of riding out this (or any category 4 hurricane) is?
