when these models show the purpley reddish stuff disappear on land, is that noteworthy? or is it just too close for missiles (models), switching to guns (radar)?

Is it just me or don't these hurricanes always seem to hit a little bit farther east of what is projected?

Can we all agree that if this flood NOLA like Katrina did, can we just leave it be and not rebuild that cesspool?
ETA: I'm not wishcasting anything. Just saying in the off chance that history repeats itself....

Based on that map we can move the NHC track a quarter of an H west.

I’ve always interpreted that to reflect that storms generally lose the heavy stuff pretty quickly after landfall.

So if hurricane hits golden meadows how bad will it get in Slidell.

Cat 3 or more be prepared to be out of power 3 days as a worse case. If you live near the water expect surge flooding.

Any landfall east of grand isle the 3 days may be best case scenario.

It all depends. Last year Laura and Delta both went west.

You are on the Eastward side, you will get rocked. Watch the size of the storm and the old rule for decades is 1 or 2 stay, 3 should I stay or should I go, depends on how low (elevation flood plane, special needs), 4 to 5, leave to stay alive

It's just that the sustained winds* over water don't translate to land because of fiction.
ETA: at the surface.

Anyone familiar with Jackson, Miss? Do they get hammered with hurricanes up there? I was thinking of booking there and then maybe Shreveport then deciding which to go to based on the path by Sat - Sunday.
