The historic building on South Rampart that housed the Karnofsky pawn shop, where a young Louis Armstrong was employed in the 1910s, has collapsed under the strain of #HurricaneIda . https://t.co/OIWfRGqsPB

Jesus dude. You expect power to stay on in a storm like this?

Look, man, back off. I'm just here for the circle jerk around S&WB and Entergy and trying to make a joke in a dark time.

But for real, they're both terrible.

This is the hardest day of my 30 year career. And tomorrow isn’t looking much better. We are being devastated.

David has covered a lot of devastating storms, including Katrina. He's one of the best. Please keep him and all of our friends back in New Orleans in your thoughts as you go to bed tonight. They're going to need the help not just tomorrow, but in the long months ahead.

Mike is great at what he does with his site, but he is sort of inexperienced as a chaser to be in a hurricane like this. Hope he stays safe.

Yup a blogger isn't a meteorologist

Although I watch his spaghetti models.

He picked a bad place to hang out. Prayers sent.

The roof of traffic and municipal court in Orleans Parish on Broad has been blown off. Water on all floors, likely destroying the entire computer system, per WWLTV.

Positive note all camera traffic tickets just got tossed

Ok, I’m over this crap. In Kenner. Lost electricity around 11:00am. Ready to turn on my portable generator. At what point do you think this is ok. It can run my full house along with my window unit. What wind speed? 50? 40? Anticipated about 5 hrs of no electricity before being able to turn this on. 9.5hrs and I’m reaching my limit.

Just like most people Louie left New Orleans for greener pastures at a young age.

Damn. How are so many buildings collapsing in NOLA proper? It isn't windy enough for that.
