Pretty sure that is a camera one of the storm chasers put up so it's probably a little more rugged than a regular camera.

I honestly can’t believe the Grand Isle cam is still running.

Do they still have power? I wonder if it has battery backup? If so, it will run until it goes under water.

On HTV, sounds like someone took a giant shite on the air. All kinds of grunting noises and stuff. Martin really needs to upgrade some of his equipment.

I think they are wrong.

Also, it's 25 mi from the coast, so it doesn't really matter at this point. No drastic weakening would occur before landfall.

It isn't one. A couple mets tweeted it could be. I was convinced it was the minimal shear working on the eyewall a bit. That seems to be what it was.

EWRCs don't happen that fast. They eye didn't clear out until about 5 am. It wasn't going to implode with an EWRC in 4 hours.

I believe the surge will be potentially worse as it will be to the NE of the eye.. it will be a wall of water.. right?

Can pine trees damage a roof

There are many species of pine but only a few can grow up to become 100-feet tall. A 100-foot pine tree with a 30 inch (76cm) diameter can weigh up to 18,500lbs.

Totally closed off the outflow canals and built up the levees. I’m not seeing much of a concern with surge predictions that worries me all that much

Ah, got ya. I didn't know if it was some kind of pejorative for "metro" local guys, or something like that.

The ones Hurricane Track uses are in a waterproof box with battery backup and also have pressure sensors and GPS equipment with them.

They ratchet and bungie strap them to poles or other objects. Laura took down the pole one was on just before surge would have covered it.
