Just a heads up, evap coolers, aka swamp coolers, only work in low/no humidity places like AZ.
Sorry you had to learn that lesson the hard way but thanks for bringing a moment of laughter to the thread as SHTF.

Admiral Todd Terrell, President of the United Cajun Navy is on CNN.
He is making a desperate plea for assistance. He needs more cameras (i.e. go pros), tripods, and most importantly camera operators.
They can not do any rescues unless someone is there to film it for social media.
This joke is just as unfunny as when you started a thread for it yesterday.

Just passed a big truck with a radar antenna on the back sitting on top of a bridge in Franklin.
Storm chasers?

Morning everyone, going to be a long day for all of us in SELA, hoping and praying that damages are minimal for everyone.

People say “baw I’ve ridden em out on Grand Isle before” but Grand Isle hadn’t seen something like this before. Grand Isle has been lucky to avoid direct impacts from strong hurricanes. It hasn’t taken a cat 4 pushing for cat 5 hurricane right in the chops before.

Based on radar, the straight line distance from New Orleans to the eye is roughly 115-120 miles.

Seems storms in the Gulf almost always finish a little right of where they are predicted to go.. not sure if that is true for every storm, but that is my experience. I only follow the big ones though.. No idea why it happens, but your statement above agrees with that.

Rapid intensification. Max sustained winds up to 145 mph, and look to still be climbing. Forecast track still pretty much the same.
