I just got up and packed a quick bag got my meds together and then kind of sat back and said you are 90 miles from the coast in Baton Rouge...82 year old Parents are staying, Brothe ris staying, I have a broken back waiting for surgery, two elderly animals I can't even pick up to put in a car right now, and I realized with it being Cat 1 or 2 here in BR I am panicing and not thinking clearly. Going to get some sleep. Tomorrow will be a long day but we will survive this and live to hate August 29th even more. May almighty God watch over all of my Louisiana Brothers and Sisters..
I am in Shenandoah, my 72 year old Mom and Uncle are staying in High point off of Jeff. I wish I would have told them to leave. I am in more danger here in Shenandoah. ( trees). It's going to be rough, but we will be okay.

What's impact at New Orleans looking like? What would be latest they can evacuate safely? I have family down there who hasn't left and seeing if I need to coerce them to do so.

TBF, they sent pretty much everyone they had into the field to cover this and had freelancers left to cover the studio (Molly McCollum
). Gearing up for tomorrow. Kinda like how you can do 90 on the morning of New Year’s Eve b/c all the cops are resting up for a big night busting drunk drivers.

Reposting from before.. this is not a complete list, but this is a good plaice to start.
1) Charge your phones & tablets & batteries
2) Fill the Bath Tub with Water
(use it to flush toilet when water is turned off)
3) Find an axe.
(if you flood, you might need it to break the roof open to escape)
4) Make a Safe Room
(no windows if possible)
(put mattresses in front of windows)
5) Do not run a generator in your house or garage
(the Carbon Monoxide can kill you)
6) Fill up plastic cups with water and put them into the freezer.. or use jugs or just something..
(can use to keep food cold longer once the power goes out)
7) Put candles and flashlights and all stuff you might need in the safe room
8) Stay away from large trees outside
(they might fall on the house)
9) Remove all stuff from outside and move it into your house or garage. Chairs, Tables, anything can become a projectile. If you have a trampoline, take it down.
10) Drain your pool to 1/3 full
(don’t empty it or it might pop out of the ground)

This is how I get ahold of myself. Sorry. I have to vent and panic and bitch to y’all so that tomorrow I am level headed and calm as I steer 8 people including two elderly 90 year olds who will all be full blown panicking through this shite. Tomorrow is going to be hell.
I hope you have some adderall for the drive tomorrow bc you don’t seem like you’re in a mindset to get some sleep tonight

Looks like they're just getting into the far Eastern part of the storm.

Since I'm about to die, I just want to thank Bobby OG for posting and/or creating some of the funniest memes. This one was gave me a belly laugh today:
Very good.
Be safe, everyone. The land mass between BTR and NOLA does not look safe. If you are still partying in Grande Isle, GTFO.
Stay away from the suspenseful Weather Channel music.

Plane Crew seems to have the same sense of urgency as the Jefferson Parish Pump Operators during Katrina.

Odds I manage to see the pass are dwindling, but I've had my daughter asleep for a couple of hours and who knows when that time bomb will go off.
