It looks pretty healthy on the infrared.

I'm sure you've explained it already, but what made this one so predictable? Seems the forecasted track has been dead nuts since itnwas in the Caribbean

So the new guidance says it hits La coast 20 miles more east but still goes west of Baton Rouge?
Dave Bernard just showed that for this new track to verify, the storm has to start moving more northwest right now. Are they sure? Why do they expect it to suddenly move more west?

That shite didn't move east really. Looks like the 4am update.
They're really just using that 12z/7AM info?
No. They aren’t stupid. They shifted it slightly east because they can see the same satellite images we see.
They can’t use the 18z GFS when it isn’t out yet though. They do use the early run 18z models.

Could be the nhs just being conservative on the track

NHC does not seem to care, track didn’t move East much
Posted on 8/28/21 at 4:08 pm to lsusteve1
I want to know what is making them think it will suddenly start going NW after going east of their track this whole time. At this rate it'll miss Houma altogether and I'm taking my arse back home.
