I made the comment before. Lots of inexperienced, naive folks as it relates to major hurricanes around this area.

I’ve got a buddy whose kids are just shy of 10 months apart…all three of them. Well, each kid is less than 10 months older than the next. 3 kids, just over 19 months separating.

I’m driving into Terrebonne parish tomorrow to do storm prep at our fishing camp. I’m seeing that mandatory curfew is at 6pm

Ummm… they clearly don’t have access to concierge meteorological and forecasting services like the OT.

The forecast track has it headed straight towards New Orleans. Not good,” said Jim Kossin, a senior scientist with The Climate Service.

When the power goes out, don’t forget to set your window units at 78 at night and 82 during the day. Think of the planet for once and make Greta proud.

It's not my first but it's the first time I've been staring down a monster.

Have your plan in place. Free cancellation of hotels until day before arrival is a pretty common thing. Booked mine Wednesday, cancelled today.

Pack.
Gas.
Prep your home to leave in a hurry.

Everyone I’ve ever spoken to that stayed during Laura or Rita says they’d never do it again. It’s just not worth it guys. Stuff can be replaced.

Yep. Slam it down. Well worth the extra hour if cooler temps once you lose power

The New York post thinks everything that isn’t Lafayette or Baton Rouge is New Orleans.

Houma, lutcher, Morgan city, grand isle, all = New Orleans.

Tried to explain this to a neighbor earlier.. and also that they can really stir up the masses talking about NOLA and Katrina and the anniversary.
