Seriously? The majority of the people have never held a job, dropped out of school, and rely on Gov’t for everything. It’s the poster child of the welfare state created by Johnson.

I don’t know much about the town of Amelia but it’s about to be wiped off the map.

I'm guessing a "convective burst" is that big thing that looks like a pimple popping on the western tip of Cuba. And I'm guessing convective burst means we're about to get a fanga in the booty

Depends on how much the land disrupted the circulation. It doesn't take much for a storm to sit on pause for a good 6-12 hours after even a benign land crossing.

But once it organizes right again, it's off to the races.

My initial thought as well, both WBRZ and WAFB both said max winds for BR around 85 give or take..
We'll see what they say at 10p

Latest update has Ida as a major Hurricane by tomorrow at noon now. That’s a lot of hours between then and landfall still.

I’m riding it out in Baton Rouge to take care of post storm cleanup and then my trip to Costa Rica scheduled for the 10th will likely get moved up to Tuesday. I’m not sitting in a hot silent house for a week.

Big time convection happens over land all the time.

anybody know if Jen Carfagno got sent to BR? Asking for a friend.

I'll take her in a pinch but the new gal they hired a couple months ago would be my kriptonite. Molly.

How stringent are Louisiana's building codes when it comes to wind mitigation?

FL got really lax there in the 80s and Andrew immediately made us pay for it.
