I left for Isaac- not really because of the storm, but because of the sh*tshow that I knew would follow. The Entergy app showed I had power a day or two after it passed. That ended up being COMPLETELY wrong. I spent 1 night in my apartment without power. It was so freaking hot, not even alcohol + Ambien could put me to sleep. Was 8 days before the lights came back on, 12 days for the people across the street.

The post Isaac heat was brutal. Had a friend’s grandmother in old Metairie with a generator that let about 12 people come sleep at night.

Zeta was down eight enjoyable last fall with the cold front. Gas water heater and stove made it just feel like a camping trip in the living room

Honestly, ignore the track models and let the NHC do their thing. A couple of days out with an obvious steering regime, they'll be pretty damn close up to the last wobbles. No model is going to beat them and anything other than the eastern side of Louisiana is mostly off the table.

But that's the difference in you getting walloped and taking a hit but managing.

The HWRF run was interesting.

I get that not doubting them, I'm just saying that people will go back and forth to feeling better then to terror with the HWRF going back and forth.

Lower Lafourche Parish was a cluster today hauling all our shite out, cannot imagine tomorrow. Patience and attention spans both in short supply, wrecks were not.

yeah that max winds graphic seemed very over the top and overly expansive.

Just got word that Cooking for Christ will be heading to LA Tuesday morning. Not sure where yet since we dont know where the worst damage will be. We did 3 locations last year (Lillian, AL. DeRidder, LA, and Lake Charles LA).

Do yall have a website or something for donations? Id like to throw a few dollars your way.

Is that burst just from the channel between the isle of youth and Cuba? Doesn’t bode well for what the deep loop current in that part of the gulf will give it for fuel.
