Anyone else can't help but eat all your hurricane supplies and snacks before the hurricane even makes landfall? It's not my fault vienna sausages are so good.

This is crap quality compared to radar in the U.S., but you can see the center approaching the western end of Cuba on Cuban radar:

and yet the actual landfall spot is inside that cone of uncertainty you posted (just on the very far western edge... but inside of it)

Wasn't a commentary about them being wrong, it was a commentary in how they've been able to narrow the cone substantially

I think I'm staying. I have to be at work Tuesday at hospital. Can't evacuate and make back for then probably. I'm on 2nd floor apartment in Metairie good supplies for power outage. Only worry would be parking lot flood for car.

Live in the garden district.

My bag is packed. Full tank. Headed to Birmingham to my parents’ place the second I’m done with work.

It’s a predicted 3. All it takes is a little slowdown or a little strengthening and it’s going to hit my threshold of “im getting the eff out” which is cat3/cat4 territory.

Staying. Putting car on Neutral ground. Kinda just assuming I’ll get water on my first floor. Not worried about tress and I am fine without power. Flooding is my concern. Chris Franklin just said 8 to 12 inches of rain

Yeah that’s the only thing I can think of. 5-7 days without power is a real pain (that’s what it was for many in BR during Gustav), and if you have a place to stay with power or can afford to book a hotel, it’s certainly reasonable to consider.

I’m a little further north and I’m not going anywhere, what are we looking at 30-40 mph winds?
